Name: John Smith
Age: 1942 years
Species: Silent
Class: Wizard
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Occupation: Left Hand of Dagalûr
Appearance:
Like many of his species, he wears a black suit, though he tries to differentiate himself with a pair of black leather gloves, a black shirt, and a red tie.
Because of his race's natural memory-proofing ability, the only ones who can see him would be Dagalûr and his psuedo-partner in crime, Morgomir, though he can be remembered if he wears his black hooded robe and a spell cast to extend the shadows to cover his entire face.
As for weapons... He doesn't use any. Yet. He's been trying to make a weapon that he could focus magical energy into so that it would emit a beam of light powerful enough to carve through Dwarven Steel, but testing is... not going so well. This weapon, if created properly and able to be replicated, would serve as the main weapons of Dagalûr's Generals, each wielding a different color.
But for now, he uses his magic for both offensive and defensive movements, along with a hand to hand combat style that takes advantage of his memory-proofed biology.
Personality:
John is more... complex, then the rest of his race, due to the fact that he has a life outside the Greater Goal. Working often with Morgomir, due to the fact that John is the Left Hand and Morgomir the Right, he is probably the only Silent that Dagalûr trusts, mainly because Dagalûr knows of the Greater Goal, and what the Silent and their religious order The Silence will do to achieve it.
Contrary to his race yet again is his ability to speak like a normal person, instead of the grutteral tones that his race has developed. In fact, John is a very well read and sophisticated person, more so than the rest of the Silent. This often means he is Dagalûr's go-to man for negotiations, especially with his natural post-hypnotic suggestions, making him extremely useful in persuasion.
Even with all of these traits, the main reason that John took on an actual name, John Smith, the reason that he broke away from his race and became the Left Hand of Dagalûr was... Because he's old. To old, in fact. No Silence has lived as long as him, but he's not considered an Elder, nor is he respected. He's just... Another one for the cause. Many Silent often are discovered and killed on the spot early on, but John... He was something different. He knew it, and that's why he broke away so early on, and studied magic to the extent that he knows today. Magic that is both extremely useful to him, and to Dagalûr, for his missions assigned to both John and Morgomir, as they are, indeed, partners in crime.
History:
John's history is long and uneventful - serving his race for The Greater Goal - until he hit two hundred years old, when he started learning about magic. It was from there that he had started to become more and more independent from his people, adopting slightly altered clothing, and stealing money from various nations to fund his magical and classical education and his research. He even had adopted a name, breaking him away from his people in every conceivable way other than blood and biology.
It was not long before his race had gained the attention of Dagalûr, The Dark One, he who was destined to rule these lands with an iron fist. John had just reached the age of 1938 when the offer to join him was made. His people, they saw this as an opportunity to further their progress towards the Great Goal, but to John... This was an opportunity for true freedom.
After slaying his personal guard with his magical skills, John had knelt before Dagalûr, swearing his allegiance to the future Lord of Eld. Dagalûr, impressed with everything John had done, and with the fact that a Silent had broken away from the rest of his race, made him his Left Hand, pairing him up with Morgomir, his Right Hand, to conduct missions that he had deemed necessary for their intervention.
After seeing his future, John knew that Dagalûr could not rule. So he has been planning, and soon is ready to unleash his plan. But he needs a moment where his betrayal can be realized.
