Day 284
A long time has passed since we first set sail. We have only made port sporadically, only to resupply. There is no rest, no comfort for the crew. And why should there be? They want what I want, for me to become King of the Eastern Pirates. If they want it as much as I do, they will not complain, they will not be upset, or they do not want it enough, at which point they would have to be punished for their disloyal lines of thought...
Day 285
They don't think I hear... They think me blind and deaf... But the Lady Mary's Revenge is bound to me, as I am to her, and what she hears, I hear, what she sees, I see... On this ship, I am a god. I have no equal. I am omnipotent on board this vessel. If the crew wished to discuss their mutinous ideas, they would have been wise to have done so on land. But they weren't wise, and so I hear it... They whisper about me... They claim my course isn't just, that I've lost my marbles, that I care more about the position of King than about my beloved ship!
I'll show them... Mutineers hang... Should they speak thusly of me again... it will be the last thing they ever say. I am forgiving in this case, only because we are several days away from the nearest port, and we cannot afford losing so many crew members without the opportunity to hire new men...
Day 288
The day has come... Half the crew attempted a mutiny against me. The fools... They have seen my power, they know what I can do with my sword and this ship, and yet they believed that they could kill me! They thought that they could kill the most feared pirate in the world! That as long as I didn't use my powers, I would be defenseless! Have they not seen my swordplay so many times before? Have they not recognized my great strength? They are fools! The lot of them!
Only the loyal crew members remain, and we are luckily less than a day away from the Balugd Harbor, where we should be able to hire more crew members. After all, what pirate worth his salt wouldn't want to sail under the feared James the Bloody, I ask you!
Day 300
Captain Harkness, a contender for the throne, is no more. His pathetic fleet of three battleships was no match against the Lady Mary's Revenge. He truly believed he would be able to fight me? Me?! Such arrogance... I was certain that I would succeed, and rightly so. Lady Mary whispered it to me. Ever since I first touched her, her voice has been in my head, whispering strategies and routes to me, routes that no man has ever thought to take. It helps me catch my prey quicker.
The price for such advice is simple. All Lady Mary wants in return is my soul. When I die, I will not return to the realm in which I was born. My essence will be sucked into the blade, to join Lady Mary in eternal suffering along with those who have used the blade before me. It is a fair price, a price I am more than willing to pay.
Day 306
I found the young Captain Grimm Morrison. I attempted to cut him off, but his ship is very impressive. Even using the magic of Lady Mary to give the Revenge more speed, the Tearful Maiden still managed to outdistance me. It may not be the most powerful ship out there, but it is very fast. It wouldn't surprise me if they could outrun the gods themselves.
Word has reached me that Captain Grimm is sailing to do battle with Captain Hawkens, and so I shall pursue neither of them. It is for the best if they merely wear themselves out as the two fight, and then I can come and destroy the other once he's weakened. It is a cowardly tactic, but neither of them is worthy of tasting Lady Mary's steel.
