Name: Captain Barrakus Bonebreaker
Age: 95
Species: Orc
Class: Fighter
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Occupation: Member of the Pirate Court
Faction: Eastern Pirates
Appearance:
Personality:
Having grown up in Lurtzog among his Orc brethren, Barrakus is a man with both desirable and undesirable traits. He is honorable, and is always one to give his opponents a fair fight, never cheating or taking cheap shots. He is, however, an Orc, and so loves war more than anything in the world. He would love to see the world fall into chaos only for the chance of seeing wars break out everywhere, and for the chance to fight in them.
Although Barrakus has mellowed out greatly in his old age, he remains a very violent individual, quick to start throwing punches should an argument grow heated. He is also a very wise man, who has lived through a lot, and learned from his experiences. He is happy to share stories of his life, and give advice to younger pirates. If asked nicely, he will even give fighting lessons.
Although he is an excellent swordsman, a sword isn't Barrakus' favorite weapon. His absolute favorite is his harpoon, which started out as an ordinary harpoon, but which he has sent to the blacksmith in Lurtzog so many times, it now looks incredibly wicked. (See picture)
History:
Barrakus was born in Lurtzog, a cousin to the then Grand Warchief of the Orcs, Grock. He was raised as all Orcs are, to be an honorable warrior, who savored each battle, respected his opponent, and allowed them a proper burial after he won. He quickly recruited a group of children of the same age, and they raised holy hell on the city of Lurtzog, getting into trouble pretty much everywhere they went.
When they reached their teenage years, they started to brawl on top of that, often coming home with bruises, which forced him to answer his father how he got them. If he lied, he got a beating, and if he told the truth, he also got a beating, something which greatly jaded Barrakus to pain.
When Barrakus reached maturity, having trained rigorously all his life with a sword, he left Lurtzog and started traveling to be a mercenary. When he found that most people didn't trust Orcs outside the Dark Lands, he took to the sea, getting recruited into the crew of the demon captain Rook'sha, who taught him how to behave on a ship and how to work one, taught him the way of the pirate, and recruited him into the Eastern Pirates.
At age twenty-five, Barrakus left Rook'sha's service and bought his own vessel, a small sloop that would allow him to sail the seas. As luck would have it, the sloop, at night, encountered a pirate vessel, a fully armed Galleon. Even luckier, the pirate who stood watch was drunk, and sleeping on his post. Barrakus and his crew of six sneaked onto the Galleon and executed the pirates in their sleep. Barrakus didn't see this as a dishonorable thing to do in his youth, as they never actually started fighting.
Now the captain of the pirate vessel known throughout Eld as the Annihilator, Barrakus earned himself a fearsome reputation as a brutal pirate, especially after he was captured in Kattarn, but broke his shackles with brute strength and killed the guards escorting him to prison with his bare hands, before fleeing back to the Annihilator.
Although he was considered for the throne once when a Pirate King or Queen was to be chosen, he hadn't quite earned enough fame at that time, and in all honesty, he didn't even want the throne.
When he turned seventy, however, Barrakus felt that he had had enough pirating for one life, and decided to settle down in Pirate Haven, docking the Annihilator, but not handing over ownership to anyone else, in case he would ever need her again. Immediately, he was offered a position in the Pirate Court, a position he gladly accepted.
Now, it is time for a new King or Queen to be chosen, and being an avid lover of war, Captain James Saak is his favorite.
